My USB Flash Drive is giving me trouble. Windows says "Drive is not formatted. Format now?" when I try to access the drive. I have important data on there though so I don't want to format it and lose all my data.

I downloaded a shareware data recovery program and it said the flash drive had a missing partition. It also listed all of my old files on there, so I know the data is recoverable. But it won't let me recover the files unless I buy the full version.

Anyone know how to fix this problem? Is there any freeware program that will recover a missing partition?

Thanks.

Try Knoppix. Google for it.

Knoppix IS the program. Use it to attempt to copy the files from the flash drive to some where else.
