USB Flash Drive not recognized by PC. Cannot format.

Specs: Windows XP
Yesterday I used my USB stick as normal (added new photos and put into my panasonic TV for slideshow, i have been doing this for months...)

Today, I went to add new files and once the percentage bar had reached 100% it said error....

Now when i plug in my USB to TV or PC both cannot read it.

For example, when I plug into any USB port on my PC, the comp recognizes a device has been plugged in (makes that unique noise) and in My Computer shows Removable Disk (F:) but when I click to go into it, a message reads "Please insert a disk into drive F:". When i right click to format it reads "There is no disk in drive F".

I have tried the USB stick on other comps but all say the same thing...

Is there a way of fixing this problem or is it easier to just purchase a new one?

Might try testdisk or photorec. Some usb makers offer apps. I

Katy Perry, I'd never treat you badly.
