I did everything posted on this site to try to get my flash drive to show up on my computerI assigned a drive letter G through the My computer management disk storage section. The computer management recognizes it as a Removable "Disk 1 with the correct amoung of memory and says its "healthy" I still can't get it to show up on My compter as a drive letter. The weird thing is that I can open up the G: drive if I right click on the drive in the Computer Management area and I can even explore My computer by right clicking on the drive from that area but the when the drive opens or when I explore up there is window in the task bar the indicates the drive letter but the address bar is blank. It should say G:\ but nothing is there. I even ran antispyware and virus scan from trend micro and stil nothing.
The greates loss is that of a missed opportunity.

I have many PC's running XP2, and have several jump drives (different manufacturers) ranging from 64 MB to 512 MB and they all work and are imediately recognized on all machines by simply plugging them into a working USB port. You should not have to go through the My computer management disk storage, etc.
I suggest you take that jump drive and connect it to another PC. If it works, your problem is with Dell; call their wonderful support. If it doesn't work, the problem is the jump drive.
Good luck.
