I have windows XP professional on my computer and the last few days I have a problem with my USB flash drive (SPCC USB flash disk USB Device. I have some very important document stored in it and when I plug it into my computer it does not show the flash drive's contents automatically (as it used to). When I click on the Removable Device E: where the flash drive is, I get the message that the disk is not fomratted, would you like it to format it now? I say no and nothing happens. When I say yes it says that it has to delete all the files in the USB disk but I don't want them to be deleted. What caused this and what can I do to save my documents from being deleted? Try another USB port, Try another computer with XP or 2000 pro, Try accessing the thumb drive via a linux distro. "linux distro's even the live ones can access quite a few file systems, even corrupt one's sometimes" Try searching for USB file recovery or something along those lines.
