usb drivers

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 2.606 GHz / 959 MB

Something happened with my computer recently and I had to use the windows cd to repair it... after I did, my pc wouldn't respond to anything being plugged into my usb ports (iPod, printer, etc), so I tried to reinstall the drivers that had an exclamation mark next to them like windows help said... I uninstalled them, and when I try to reinstall them it says: "The file 'usbport.sys' on Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 CD is needed. Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK."

I have no idea what to do here... I'm not really computer oriented by the way so I'd appreciate it if you could keep it in simple English... Thanks :)

Do you have an XP SP3 CD?

We’re not all the same
What a shame" - Shinedown

Download & install SP3:

You may also need to update some of your drivers. USB is generally a part of the motherboard chipset drivers...did you install them?
