USB drive help

Specs: Windows XP
I plug in my USB flash drive, and windows plays the sounds to accept it as recognized, and it is apparent in my device manager screen but not in my computer and I can not access the files or the device to save anything. But when I try and use it on another computer it works fine. I know that the USB port works fine as my other drive works as do others I've tried. It's just this one flash drive and seemingly only on my system. Any help that can be offered would be appreciated!

Look in Disk Management to see how the USB drive is shown there.

jefro: how do I assign it a drive?

Othehill: it is shown as being G: drive, FAT, Healthy (Active), 78% free space.

That's the weird thing, everything seems to be functioning with it, but there is no G drive when I explore My Computer.

Thanks for the suggestions!
