Specs: Windows 7
Cannon MG 5420 printer keeps going offline. I have to turn off printer and turn back on to get it to print.

Unplug the printer from one USB port on the computer and reinsert it into another. Let us know if it work.

Also make sure the power saving option for USB is disabled:

else windows may decide to shut off power to the ports.

Hello Susanmjones

When the printer is offline, means is not work the conections, here is something steps to do, and fix you problem.

It is possible that when sending a document to print this remains in the queue, is the case?

1. Click the right mouse button on the printer icon
2. At the top click printer
3. (the last) In the option to locate the print queue corresponding to pause printing or use printer offline menu, check if any of etas options is activated, should be turned to off.

Restart the computer this will allow the process of removing the print queue to be more effective.

Remove the error printer offline
