Microsoft Windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Specs: Windows 7, Zoostorm 8gb ram
I installed a 3.0 generic express pci card and noticed that there was background interference on the screen display, device manager said the card was working alright but when I plugged in a usb hdd it wasn't recognised by windows then after a while the PC hung, I removed the card and re-seated it but still had the same problems, do I have a faulty card or there any other checks I can make ?? - I do have another older pc but it doesn't appear to have an express pci slot Thanks...

To be certain that the card is causing the problems and not something else, you need to verify that the problems do not occur when the card is removed. Your post does not make it clear that you already did that.

✔ Best Answer
You might want to try a different Molex connector, but it does appear to be a bad card. If it was just the drive was not recognized, it might have been a driver issue, but the interference is a bad component on the board. Return it for replacement.
You might want to Google the make and model of the card to see if there is a trend with that card, if it is, you might want to try a different card this time. If not, then it probably is just a bad one.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
