I've been looking for a good USB 2.0 card and an external HD enclosure. There is a really wide disparity in prices on the items I've looked at. More money isn't always better, so thought I'd ask for recommendations.
I went with Firewire before the USB 2.0 came out so I've stayed with it, but I've also seen where a lot of the companies selling Firewire also carry the USB 2.0 stuff. The only problem I had in getting the enclosure had very little to do with price- Where specs were equal, it was customer service that gave me trouble. In other words- try to find a company who gives you the best combination of cheapest price and best reputation for service. Some of the bargain-basement places wound up costing me money when the product they sent wan't as advertised, or worse, broken- right outta the box! There's a search engine that seems to be fairly unknown, even though I think it's TONS better than Google. Go to Profusion.com and find the Advance Search link to the right of the box you type your info in. Once on that page, it's just like every other search engine- except for where you check "All" where it says to choose your search sources. (You'll see it on the right) Hit Enter and you'll have TONS of places to check out...! Hope this helps...

Thanks for the response. I'll try Profusion in a little while. I've never heard of it.
