I have an Asus AN8X deluxe Motherboard. It has onboard USB 2.0 (4 ports) When I connect my USB 2.0 scanner to it everything works fine. As soon as I connect a 1.1 device to it, the scanner no longer works until I remove the USB 1.1 device, uninstall/ reinstall scanner sw Any ideas or suggestions? This is killing me

Angry,
As soon as you put a 1.1 device in a 2.0 USB, the whole system will revert to the 1.1 speed. While well designed hardware should cope with this, scanners are notorious for wanting the whole thing to themselves, and tend to go into a corner and sulk because you took their speed away. There is no way round it when this happens, and yes it is a pain. My only suggestion would be to obtain an old USB 1.1 PCI card, and use that for your 1.1 device. A 1.1 card is only going to set you back $20, and probably much less.
