I was installing a v6202 USB 2 card in a friend's computer, so that he can use his new HP 3325 printer. Unfortunately the card did not want to work. Even my MS Intelligmouse does not work. The mouse's light only comes on quickly and then goes dead again. What could be the problem? BTW the first time the computer installed Sis drivers, which seemed funny to me, as the USB card is a Via chipset. When I disabled the onboard USB, this problem disappeard.

You need to install the VIA 2.42 Lite Drivers for that VIA Chipset 2.0 USB card to work. Go to Via Arena webpage and choose the drivers link on the left side of the page. Then on the right side of the next page choose the USB link. Under the heading of USB 2.0 drivers you will see Win98/SE/ME - Please download and install these drivers - package 2.42L. I would also delete the current drivers you have installed before you install these new one. Good Luck!
I did install the drivers that was on the CD with the card. Will this package 2.42L differ from them?

This site has everything to do with Via Technologies. The company that made the chipset for your card. Go to the site and look around. If the drivers don't work you can remove them through the device manager. They should work fine. Good Luck.

I got a blue colored cd that came with my Via Technologies 2.0 USB card. I installed them and the card worked very badly. My computer froze and rebooted itself. I then removed them and installed the 2,42 Lite drivers and the card worked perfectly. Good luck.
