ive been looking at sisoft sandra and it is telling me that i have 4 usb contollers, and that 3 of them are usb 1.1 and the fourth is usb 2.0, my board kt4av-l has 4 usb ports built in and 2 on the front of the case, ive noticed that transferring files from my digital camera that it seemed slow, does this mean that this board only has 1 usb 2.0 port? and which 1 should it be?

Yes it could be, but I would confirm with your mobo manufacture for the actual spec's of the USB implemented.

ive looked at the instructions and well its vague to say the least, it says the motherboard provides 1 pinout for usb 2.0 (pinout for the front usb ports, and that in order to use usb 2.0 you need to install the correct driver for xp, i have every update, its says its compatible with usb 2.0 and usb 1.1 anway ive tested all the ports and they are all exactly the same speed perhaps its my digital camera that can only transfer at slow speeds, takes about 15 seconds to transfer a 4 mb file, ive just bought a 128mb card for it so as you can imagine it takes a while to transfer 128mb worth of pictures and videos to the pc! its a polaroid pdc 3030

Rocky:
I strongly encourage you to not rely on Microsoft's website for drivers. Each time I tried one of the drivers from their website it messed up something. Go to the manufacturers site for your motherboard an see if they have any kind of USB 2.0 drivers for it. I have older motherboards on my systems. In each of them I added a 5-port USB 2.0 PCI card. Initially all ports showed up as USB 1.1 in device manager. After I installed the USB 2.0 driver a USB 2.0 root hub listing was visable in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers, section.
Is your camera USB 2.0 rated? Many are not. If your camera and it's USB cable are not rated for USB 2.0 you will not be able to get USB 2.0 speeds.
