Reply: (edit)It doesn't matter. Buy a USB 2.0 memory stick -- it's backwards compatible and will simply drop back to USB 1.1 speed if that's what you've got in your PC.

Reply: (edit)If your system is original - with the 1300 CPU and Windows 98, chances are it's USB1.1 as USB2.0 is far more recent. You can try checking the Control Panel/System/Hardware section - USB2.0 will be specified there. SiSoft Sandra will do the same job. Or you can find out your motherboard details & check on the manfacturer's web-site. As mentioned though, USB2.0 is backwards compatible and will be more useful if you upgrade to a USB2.0 system.

Reply: (edit)Thanks John and Kevin! My system is "self-made", and was originally a 850 Duron (now a 1300 Duron, but costed a BIOS update to do it). Windows 98 SE since the beginning. In the control panel/hardware is the entry USB, but no specs. I don't have Sandra, and my MB manu is Elito-Epox (the board is a EP-8KTA3) doesn't say much about it other than "it has USB". I'll buy a 2.0 mem stick and be happy with that! Thanks again! Dennis
