Urgent Issue

OS: XP/SuSE 9
CPU/Ram: 2800+, 768

I touched a hard drive and conducted a slight static electric shock. Now when i try to boot the computer up, it will turn on and beep then turn off in about 3 seconds. I have tried to clear the CMOS and i have unplugged the power calbes but it doesnt fix the problem. I really need to boot my home computer, please help. Thanks in advance.

First thing is to swap out your memory to see if that's the problem. And really make sure your BIOS was set back to default settings.

well, i dont have any other other sticks of ram, but i know that when i turn on the computer with no ram at all, the exact same thing happens. Do you think i fried my ram?

No RAM at all will cause error beeps. Check the site below for an explanation of the beeps and what could be causing the problem. The most common is RAM or the video card.

i've done it too, fried my vid card..
