Anyone know which is better. I am looking at Ti200 or Ti500, and the Radeon 9000.
Dunno which is better/faster. Any help would be appreciated, I have to buy one tomorrow!

i am not sure which is better off i like nvidia my self i feel they have better drivers.. however you would be best off geting a g4 ti 4200 they are not very much more money for a much better performance..

On a really tight budget though.
I am squeezing in an XP2000, 512 meg DDR333, $60 motherboard and whatever graphics board I choose.
My board is gonna cost up to $120 so what do you think I should go for?
I am, believe it or not, managing to do this with $375! Been hunting really hard for cheap, but quality parts.

I dont know how in the world you managed to get all those parts for 375 dollars....but my raidon fire GL 8500 works much better than my geforece 3.

Ok, well. here is the final decision.
Geforce 3 Ti 200 128 meg card ($118)
Athlon XP2000 ($98).
ECS K7VTA3 V3.1 KT333&VT8233A motherboard ($60)
512 DDR333 PC2700 ($119)Total including shipping is $396 + $30 ish.
If you want to know where I am getting such a cracking deal (all from one supplier) I will post it after I have made my purchase tomorrow!

I just upgraded to the 8500 and scored 9300 on 3Dmark2001SE only thing scoring higher is the 400$ GeForce 4 cards and the new 9700 will out score those and it is 400$ also. I considered the 9000 but it only had 64 mb of memory and no pixal shading

I would suggest going with a Geforce card.. weather it be a geforce 3 ti500 or geforce 4 4200.. both of those are really good cards and are fairly cheap... if you can, go with a geforce 4 4400 it will give you a little more power for those 3d games and applications... I would not recommend going with a ATI card.. because they do not have good support with drivers and any problems that happen...

I like the idea of the Radeon 9000 pro. Reading up on all of the new trueform and stuff like that.
Would like the 8500 pro, but not got the cash. (Why do ATI make it so complicated, the 8500, is better than the 9000 pro! CRAZY!)
Apparently, the Geforce 4 series is STILL based on the Geforce 2 architecture (also Direct x 7 based), and the Radeon is the only Graphics card out there developed for Direct x 8.1.
Very interesting.
ALso read on Toms hardware that 128 meg or 64 meg in a video card is a complete waste of time. They benchmarked 64 meg version vs 128 and there was almost no difference , and I am talking less than 200 points in 4000!
The site reckoned that the 128 meg thing was marketing and that with the speed the things run at, 64 meg is easily enough to handle today's games. They also said that 128 meg would be useful in the future (But by then the GPU would be out of date!).
More comments please. I need to know what people think of the 9000 PRO
