Recently i bought a ATI radeon 9000 pro 128mb ddr video card. I bought it to upgrade my geforce 2mx400. When i tried to take out the geforce2 the AGP RM wont let me take it out without breaking it. How do u release a video card with an AGP RM???

some motherboards have a locking tab on the back of the agp slot you may need to flip that down before you can remove it...if not then I would just work it out slowly...

i tried to slowly work it out but i just could not get it free from the AGP retention mechanism. anyone else know ne other tricks, and by the way my motherboard is intel D850GB.

ok marco check this out..I found this on a web site I'll list on the bottom...this is about your Mobo...
The AGP retention mechanism was annoying at first because it locked the video card in so hard that when I wanted to remove the video card, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to safely remove the video card without breaking anything. I couldn't just pull out the video card. I had to push back on the lock mechanism first before attempting to free up the video card. Once I figured this out, it was no problem at all.
I got this from here...

thanx for your suggestion but i am uncertain as to what part of the lock mechanism to push. If possible could you send me a diagram demonstrating how to do this it would be greatly appreaciated.

if your still having problems I hope this helpes you..
Ok...I've seen what it looks like and it's a little arm that goes up at locks against your aound card from the back if you push it away from your card at the top, which will be about an inch up your card above the mobo. it should either let you now pull the acrd out or push up the back of the card letting you know that you can pull it out...kinda like the locking tabs for ram...
If this helps let me know...if not then let me know and i'll see if I can find a picture for you..
or since this is getting to the bottom of the message board e mail me at jeremiahtepe@hotmail.com
I'll be glad to help you...
