Upgrading usb ports

How do i go about installing a usb2 port? i have already got two usb1 ports but i have been told that i will need usb2 for running certain hardware ( scanners, digital camera etc ). thanks

you will need to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card and plug it into the motherboard (if you have a spare slot of course)

You do not necesserily need USB 2 for a scanners, digital camera etc. Those devices, even if they have USB2 capablity will still work fine in a USB 1.1 port, but only at USB 1.1 speeds. The speed difference with these type of devices will hardly be noticable.
USB2 is needed when you have high data rate devices like CD-ROM and disk drives.
