Either more ram than the MB can handle or incompatible ram I believe.

I want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car.

I have been doing some checking and intel says it will not work it has to be non ecc. I got this memory from an upgrade that never happened when I was a contractor. I wonder if the PC shop down the street would trade me for some non-ecc memory. I wish I could trick the motherboard?

ECC RAM is generally used in servers, not desktop systems. It is slower & more expensive than standard RAM because of the added error correction circuitry.

You can't "trick" the board into using it...it either supports ECC or it doesn't.
