I was just curious if someone could assist me. I am supposed to upgrade a friend's pc but all I can find is a spec sheet with the specs. The guy said the pc has 1 gig of ram in it and I believe it has 4 slots for upgradability. I am wondering how I would go about finding the motherboard installed. My main concern is that I don't know what memory is installed but I believe it is pc2700 and i'm not sure if it has any type of ECC on it. I was going to get some pc3200 but for some reason on this mobo the memory must be installed in pairs and i'm a bit worried that because of this it could complicate everything if I have memory running at different speeds (will it still clock down?) The model of the pc is sony vaio pcv-rz40c I was going to get some pc3200 crucial memory off of newegg but I wanna make sure its going to work.
