buy a 1g stick of ram, if your board will accept this and, spend the rest on the best agp card you can find.

Here's your board:

I suggest you get an ATA100 HDD, upgrade your RAM to at least 2GB & get an AGP video card. If you're not a gamer, there's no need to get the best AGP available (Radeon HD 3850)...a Radeon X1650 Pro or HD 3650 will do fine. Just make sure to get a card with 128-bit memory, not 64-bit. Here's an example:

BTW, why do you cap all your words like that? Annoying......

I meant the best card you can find, with the money you have left within your limit

You should also upgrade that CPU.

A while back, jam posted links to a site that sold super-cheap S478 CPUs. Can't remember the site, but jam might. :)

The Northwood-128 Celerons were the most pathetic CPUs to come out of Intel since the original cacheless Slot 1 Celerons. Netburst just can't perform with less than 512K of L2.

If you can find a cheap Northwood P4, buy it! That'll also give you a nice boost.

@ Jam, I only have £50 to spend. im a student and my budget is tight. I've had a look and can find and ATA 100 HDD under £47 leaving me £3 to buy 2gb of ram and an agp?

Off topic.
