Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 with 256Mb RAM in 2 DIMMS of 128Mb each of PC2100. I am hoping to upgrade to 512 Mb by buying some memory. My machine seems to have 200pin DIMMS (at least that's what the Dell site says when I try to upgrade memory from there). Staples is having a sale of PC2100 256Mb RAM but their memory seems to be 184pin. Will I be able to use 184pin DIMMS to upgrade my RAM which is currently 200pin? (Sorry if this seems to be a dumb question :)

Wow, can't say I've ever heard of a 200 Pin sodimm before! Needless to say, a 184 pin stick will NOT fit in a 200 pin slot.

Me thinks the Inspiron is a laptop. Rarely does laptop memory go on sale.

Yeah, the Inspiron is a laptop
To my knowledge there is no 184 pin memory for laptops...it's 144 pin.
144 pin will not replace 200 pin
184 pin will not replace 200 pin
Your Inspiron 1100 uses 200 pin
Crucial, among others, stock the stuff
