I'm looking to upgrade my laptop HDD to an SSD.

I want to install a solid state drive as my primary drive on my laptop. There are currently two HDD drives installed both are 500gigs.

I'm concerned how i'll get the current system setup on the SSD, as i'd like it as the primary hard drive, So that it boots the system and has everything installed in it and works the same as my current primary HDD with the bios working correctly etc...

How would i go about this, to make sure it's a successful transition, And that i have a working SSD as my primary system drive?

It's an asus g73jw-a1. It is a republic of gamers, gaming laptop. I bought it brand new, over 2 years ago. It is still working like a charm and is a wonderful piece of machinery.

windows 7
RAM: 8gig
2 hdd's, 500gigs each
CPU: 4x intel core i7 740qm, 1.73gz
graphics: nvidia gtx 460m

✔ Best Answer
Take out the secondary drive and replace it with the SSD drive. Clone the primary drive to the SSD.

Remove the primary drive and replace it with the secondary drive you removed.

Configure the BIOS to boot from the SSD and your are done
