hey i wondered if any1 could help me out here, im upgrading my computer with crucial 512mb ddr 333mhz ram and a seagate barraccuda 200g ata 150 hardrive.
at the moment ive got a dell dimension 4500 with these compnenets:
256mb ddr 266 ram (kingston)
40gb maxtor 4d040h2 harddrive (5400rpm, ata ultra 100)
and a intel brookdale 82845eI really could use some help in wondering if i can just plug these in, i was unsure about the hardrive being ata 150, will this matter? also i thought i could just add 2 rams 2gether or take the old out and put the new in (and get 333mhz 512). I was told somthing about needing 2 overclock it for this 2 work ?! hellpp

Do you mean Serial ATA150 (SATA)? Are you sure your motherboard even supports SATA drives? If it is an ATA150 drive, not SATA, it's pointless because it'll never be able to transfer data at that rate.
Increasing your RAM to 512mb would be a good thing, but since your CPU runs at 533FSB, you really should have PC2100 (DDR266) running in dual channel mode. Does your board support dual channel?
I suggest you do some research before buying the wrong stuff
