Upgrade Ram

CPU/Ram: P4 1.8 Ghz 256 Mb Ram

How much difference will i tell if i upgrade from 256 MB to 1 gig ?

It's hard to quantify. It does depend on what software you're running.

I don't have any desktop computers running less than 512MB (my laptop only has 384MB) and usually like to have 1024MB if possible.

I do a lot of Photoshop with 20-80MB files. There is a big difference between 512 MB and 1024MB for me.

Its a Gateway Computer so i think it has to come from Gateway. Oh and i play games alot. I also have powerpoint im going to learn and MS Office 2000.

Its a E-2000. It has two slots. I figured 512Mb + 512Mb.

You do not have ot buy from gateway. Check CRUCIAL.

For Powerpoint, office and games, 512 should be just fine. I would bet gateway stuck you with two 128mb ram sticks, filling both slots, so you might need to buy two 256mb modules. If you do have one 256, you could just get a matching 256.

If you can just add to your current memory, you want to check your documentation and make sure you buy the exact same type (same speed, ecc/non ecc, etc) as the one you have.

I have one 256 Mb. And im going to go with 1 gig of ram. I heard the more you have the better things will run.
