Hi, my brother wants to upgrade the memory on his laptop so he can run XP. I was just wondering, most SODIMM modules are PC133 and my brothers laptop is PC100. Can I put in PC133 anyway and have it run at a slower speed like in desktop PCs? I'm not so sure if laptops are the same to PCs in that respect thats all. Thanks for any help!

According to a few memory sites, your laptop has 64MB of fixed memory plus two additional slots...with a max of 128MB per slot, for a total max of 320MB. That would mean there's already 64MB in one slot. I would stick with PC100 to play it safe.
I had trouble finding some recently myself without having to pay a fortune for it. I ended up calling around some of the local PC repair shops & finally found some used stuff for cheap. 128MB for $10, 256MB for $20.

OK, thanks jam. I guess I'll just have to look around for some and hopefully I can get it at a good price.
