Well if u want to make ur system more powerfull or faster, that you should start by adding more ram, if u can get up to 256MB then do so, it will help out a good deal! And if you have a good deal of money, u can get your self a good big fast hard drive, like a 40gig 7200rpm hard drive, the faster hard drive will help your programs load up faster, and also make your computer boot up a bit faster to, the ram will help on that to. Well as for the processor i'm not to sure, see beacuse i had a system just kind of like yours, and i also wanted to upgrade my procossor, but i never did it, but maby u can get a faster one, maby like celeron 700-750Mhz or more, but u have to make sure that the processor runs at 66Mhz FSB, beacuse i'm not sure if u can change the FSB on an e-machines to like 100Mhz or 133Mhz beacuse if u can change it to 100 or 133 then u can get a Pentium 3 like 950Mhz! Then that would help a good deal. But well just get more ram first and a faster hard drive, i hope my advice was helpfull!

x86 is a little short in his reply, but actually he is right. Don't waste your money trying to upgrade an E-machine. They are all proprietary manufacture, meaning everything is "shrink-wrapped" onto the motherboard. There is nothing to upgrade, including the video card which (I think) is integrated and shares the system RAM. Emachines are disposable computers. You buy them cheap and then throw them out when you are ready to upgrade. In fact, Emachine used to have an upgrade discount for emachine owners, I am not sure if they still do.

I wouldn't bother investing in a CPU, but a RAM upgrade will definitely make a difference. Hold on, in your specs, you say 64 mb of RAM, but where it says, CPU/RAM, you have 384...which is it?

My 2cents would be to keep the emachine intact and spend about 500 bucks on a modern pc. Look locally and online for a new pc that can be upgraded as money becomes available. If you post the system credentials as you did here, we'll pick it apart for ya.
