upgrade for older Dell 2350

Specs: Windows XP, 2.2 ghz 1gb ram
I need more speed. I have been told I can go up to a 2.8ghz microprocessor????(I now have a 2.2) What else can I do ie more RAM??? It has two card slots where I am running max at two 512's. I was told with the higher processor I can go up to 3 gigs of RAM, but how on 2 slots and a DDR SDRAM setup

Maybe rather than believing you can make a fast computer out of a DELL some research should of been undertaken, 10second Google...

Yup. Get a new one, connect the old one by LAN, and use it for backups and emergencies.
