Upgrade Dell Dimension XPS D300

upgrade to P4 chip and MoBo with onboard nic, sound onboard. What board will fit can I use present power supply?

I'm not so sure you can use the dell power supply. Dell uses a non standard ATX connections. it's been said that a standard PS will burn a dell MoBo. The connectors are identical.

Here is the standard ATX Power supply

You should verify the voltages with a meter. To energize the PS outside the case you jumper pins 14 to 13-or-15 normally but there's no guarantee it will be the same on the dell.

I'm sure your power supply will 'not' have the connections for a P4.

Thank you all for the prompt reply. I had heard of Dell's propritary systems.As for the case dimentions:17"Hx17 1/2"Dx6 58"W.
MoBo:7 1/2"x11 3/4".
Will have to rethink this upgrade.
