I wanted to know when people talk about updating or upgrading your video card bios, are they talking about just overclocking it? When you overclock your video card permanently does it change your video card bios? So if I was to update or upgrade my video card bios I would just be overclocking it? I know for motherboards its a little different where updating the bios wont overclock your motherboard. Well if anyone can answer this question that would be great, just a little confused about the video card bios. I have already read a few guides on how to overclock gpus.

Not necessarily. Video BIOSes can be upgraded for many different reasons: to increase stability, to add extra functionality (eg: HDCP), etc.

Yes, the BIOS would be modified. However, it wouldn't be permanent. You can use your VBIOS update utility to "rollback" to an older BIOS. And if you really screw up (no display), you can just throw in a PCI video card, run your VBIOS update utility, and restore the older BIOS. Just make sure to backup the current BIOS before doing anything!
