Hey all,

We're having some trouble with our Exchange server (exchange 2003 running on windows server 2003). We believe it to be a hardware issue, that's why i am posting it in this forum.

Since we set this server up (about 8 months ago) we've been receiving disk errors and ESE errors at pretty much the exact same time every morning (during exchange maintenance). One of the tech guys believes that we may have accidentally loaded the 64 bit raid driver instead of the 32 bit raid driver when installing the OS and setting up raid.

My question is, if i try to update the driver to the correct 32 bit version, will it destroy the current raid settings? In other words, will i have to rebuild the RAID array?

I'd bet a nickel that you could not have used the 64 bit drivers and have it work.

I'd start with performance monitor and event logs again. The time issue is more likely than the raid driver.

Start with a full ntbackup with system state to remote storage before you start.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Well, it looks like it's a bad sector on the hard drive that is causing the problem. One of my tech guys is looking for good disk diag programs that will work with RAID. Any suggestions?

Also, this is our exchange server, so if there's a way to do this without having to reboot the system, that would be great.
