update Thinkpad 1411 not booting

Ibm / Thinkpad 1411

Specs: Windows Vista
Finally got it to boot up and received ...071 cmos battery bad message....070 real time clock error...and memory good message.

So would the cmos be causing the machine to not boot?

The main battery is reading fully charged.

I thought I saw a 1411 service manual somewhere online in order to locate the cmos.
Anyone know the online location of this manual. (possibly at Lenovo?)

Once a cmos is installed can I just start the computer as normal or do I have to go into bios and do something before that happens?

You'd need the full number such as 1400-2781 or whatever.

There used to be all of the info but for the last few years it is very hard to find.

I think if you open it up, on the back it should be a coin battery. Keep trying for the manual first.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
