undo USB stick partitioning

Subject: undo USB stick partitioning
OS: Vista, Xp Pro, Me, & 95
CPU/Ram: P4 and PII
Comment:
I have a freebee USB stick with two partitions (482MB and 19.4MB). The 19.4 MB part is write protected and contains a commercial program - that's why it was a freebee. Can I reformat it and make one USB stick with no write protection? I don't mind if all the data is wiped.
Thanks for any help.

Might have to load a linux live cd and use common linux tools. Nomally under MS it is a real stinker.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Jennifer,
I don't know the brand as it only has company's name on it and under properties it says "USB mass storage device"

In Windows Explorer, does the drive letter show what third party program is installed?

I feel like I'm pulling teeth here. LOL

it is the product they are promoting - the program is not the problem. it is the write protection of that partition which is not a hardware switch you find on some USB devices to protect from accidental overwriting
