Earlier today I saw a Jetway PM9MS ATX Motherboard w/ Intel P4 2.26Ghz for $179.99 and it had raid but no memory. I think this board takes 184 pin DDR memory that can be purchased rather cheap. Do a Google search for the above MB and I think you will find what you want with memory for about $210.00.
Someone else will probably find better for less.

Well doc, how 'bout telling us what you have for memory and power supply. There's a slew of motherboard/processor combos out there for less than 200 bucks but by adding memory to the mix we're limited quite a bit.

What do you want to do with the new system?

Many etailers like pcclub.com, newegg, dumpinggoods.com, etc. have "refurbished" boards, good deals on cpu's, good deals on combo's and so forth that will allow you to have enough money left over to spend on memory and still stay within your 200 buck limit.

If an embedded processor is ok for you (likely ain't) they're pretty cheap. A celeron or sempron combo with motherboard is usually under a hundred bucks too.

Is gaming a big thing with you? If so, do you already own a good video card?

Hate to see you disappointed after you spend the 200 bucks.

Going to be doing video capturing and video work. I know I will probably have to get another power supply. I know that, Im considering that not part of it. I have found that encoding video is rather rough. I have the computer to do it myself but this is my sisters computer that I am working on now and she is wanting to take video from her analog video cam corder tapes and put them on the computer and edit them and burn to dvds. She is running a amd 1200 processor now and it just aint quite enough go to get the job done. Want it to be a smooth process for her and quickly, thats why I am considering a raid 0 as well. I run a raid o and it really helps in the video work I do.

Hi doc,

Others may have a better solution for you but I'd like to see you with an Intel P4C 800Mhz with hyperthreading processor and 1 gigabyte memory for video processing. That's something I don't know how to do for $200.00.

I don't think a good deal on a raid capable motherboard is too hard to find but the cost of a processor and memory is gonna get pretty high.

I don't do much video work and what little I do do is pretty slow and clunky. That's on a 3 year old system.

Hopefully, someone will come along with a recommendation for a lesser system that will do what you need.

Perhaps something like this would do it for you:

http://www.pcclub.com/product_system_detail.cfm?itemno=UPG01028#

That board has sata and raid. You might look around for something similar at a better price. BTW, my experience with PCClub has all been positive.

i don't see in going too cheap if you want to do video encoding..$200 is unrealistic..more like 300-400 on mobo, memory and cpu...you want to do raid 0...do you have 2 hard drives?
