My system configuration include Intel Core Duo E4400 Processor, Intel D945 GCPE Motherboard, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 160 GB 7200 RPM IDE HDD, LG DVD writer. OS is Windows XP Professional SP2.
I have installed AVG free edition antivirus. Right now, I am not able to open any partition of the hard-disk. When I try to open any partition, I get OPEN WITH window. I also used context menu to open but no luck.

Check Disk Management to see how the partitions show there.

I assume you mean your trying to open a drive not a partition. Try this:
Start Run Type: regsvr32 /i shell32 Enter
Also, have you done a full virus scan?

Yes, I had already completed virus scan and found two viruses - one Trojan and other Worm. I also deleted those files from my system in normal mode.
