I just bought a logitech headset with a microphone attached. I connected the jacks accordingly and the earphones work but the microphone doesnt. Ive tried everything. Ive unmuted the mic, re-installed drivers and verified that the mic worked on a friends computer. But for some reason it wont work on mine..what am i doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

There are a few audio adapters that need a powered mic with a stereo plug. One of the connections supplies voltage to the mic. Check your manual to make sure that's not the case. A mic with a mono plug will not work with those types.
