yea im running xp. i wanna install a new OS. but im unable to boot from my drives. icant even boot into bios. if i click the del button, nothing happens, someitme when i get to boot screen, and select an option, the thing just starts xp from my hDD>. is there another way to get into bios or boot from cd?

There may be a windows or so called dos program that would allow you to edit your bios from within xp. I have only seen it on a few oem systems but might be a common applications. Search for one. Otherwise you might try a ps/2 keyboard if using a usb one. Might be a stuck key but I doubt that.

Is the XP cd a MicroSoft,restore or copy?
My guess would be a USB keyboard is in use and the BIOS is not set to boot from the CD first. As jefro suggested, try a PS/2 keyboard.
k guys i got into bio, turns out it was one of the other buttons,
but now, the thing is, my bios is weird, its a 2001 laptop. so it doesnt have the ability to turn of lan boot or hdd boot,
i get some wierd error when i try booting from cd, its related to lan booting. but i cant turn it off.. and i cant install windows 7 while xp running because i only have a 20 gig hd..anything i can do from here on?
