unable to boot from cd

Specs: Windows XP
1. when restarting by pressing f11 key it displays boot from
a. from hardisk
b. dvd ram
when selecting dvd ram and pressing enter it automatically jumps and previous os(XP) is starting.
my motherboard was mercury pnmcp73v.
my dvd writer is working it's able to read and write other cd/dvd's and the os cd kept was fine it is working in other pc's.

If it has worked in the past, then do not change the jumper settings. That's one sure way to invite more trouble.

Are you trying to reload the OS? make sure you watch the prompt when first booting, it will tell you to press any key to boot from CD. It may be that your reader is having a hard time with that particular disc. Try a different book disc and see if that works.

guyz thnx for ur quick response i changed my first bootable device to dvdwriter from hard disk it worked nw i'm able to change my os thnku somuch.................
