Specs: Windows Vista
i want to run two computers using 1 broadband conection i.e one pc in one room and 1 pc in another. dont want to use wireless. can you buy a lenth of cable usb to usb about 6mt or has anyone ever made a conector using other  type of wire

Why can't you use ethernet cable? The max limit for USB cable is 5m but I wouldn't recommend it.

All you need is a router and a couple of lengths of Cat5 Ethernet cable which is designed for the purpose.

A router is certainly adviseable, but you don't even need it. An ethernet card in each PC and a 'crossover' cat5 cable will do the job.
