i was wondering if there was any real sort of hardware tweaking i could do to a compaq presario 5304. i know it's an old comp but i was thinking about using it as a web server or anything. so i don't wnat to really improve the graphics. just the speed of the processor and it's memory access. or atleast where i could see all the settings for the hardware and i'll tinker with them. AFTER of course reading up on some of the hardware. thanks in advance

OEM's are rarely overclock friendly, to get the best performnce from your rig try a software approach. If your OS isn't tired or too bloated already and a format/reload is not an option, try these.

0. Sanitize your registry.
1. Cleanup all redundant garbage.
2. Run chkdsk.
3. Defrag as needed.
4. Make sure your PC is free of scumware.
5. Update OS patches and hardware drivers.

If I missed something am sure, someone else will note that, goodluck.
