Hi All,
My IDE cd-rom recently died, so I popped in my SCSI Yamaha CD-RW to take it's place until I can get a new machine altogether. It works great in all respects, except that right now I am trying to use my recovery CD to reload my operating system and I can't get the machine to boot from the CD.
There is no option in my system BIOS to 'boot from SCSI' however I don't believe that is the problem. The Advansys card BIOS seems to be trying to boot from the CD anyway, and the system hangs at this message:
Bootable CD detected in SCSI CD-ROM Drive with ID#4.
0-Default Entry [Bootable 1.44 MB Floppy]
Select image or press Escape for normal boot:_
I think the problem may actually be that my usb keyboard is not recognized at this point in the startup process and allowing me to input a response. I can never bypass the memory test, or enter the Advansys Utilities during startup either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks,
That was the first thing I tried... but the Recover CD doesn't seem to have a setup or autorun file anywhere to be found. I tried hooking up a ps2 keyboard instead of the usb one just to get things started, but the machine doesn't recognize that during startup either. Don't know what's going on.
Jim
