I first istalled the dvd writer and it just didnt burn properly. i took it out and changed the jumper seting from slave to master; changing the seting on the DVD rom from master to slave. Since i took it out iv put it back in any possible jumper setting but the hard drive doesnt even recognize that the drives are there. Is there a way of solving this problem?

Reply:

1. do not pair up two HDDs on the same cable/channel

2. do not pair up two optical drives on the same cable/channel

3. do not use Cable Select. Use Master or Slave jumper settings only

4. setup the burner as the Secondary Master
