Hi there, I'm looking at upgrading to a triple monitor setup from my current dual monitors, but I'm having no luck finding much info about it, so thought you guys and girls could perhaps help? I'd like to know what kind of hardware/software I'd need to do this? I'd like to add in another main screen (48" @ 1920x1200) above my existing two 24" (1920x1200) screens, in a big square basically. Each screen would have to be able to show *independent* images at the same time (i.e. not mirroring each other). Ideally I'd like to keep my current GFX card (an nVidia GTX 260 which works great for my dual monitors, but is unable to support 3 - if my understanding is correct), however, if I need to change GFX card to get three monitors could you suggest the kinds of card(s) I'd need? I looked at splitters such as Matrox's Triple Head 2 Go, but this doesnt support the required resolution of three monitors @ 1920x1200 each, so is no good. Thanks in advance, Ed.

Try looking for a PCI based card that can do the required resolutions. I think staying with nVidia based cards would be better. WinXP should support up to 10 displays. I know Win2000 did. All the cards in the link below should be PCI. Mix of ATI & nVidia. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

And you are rude and don't know what you are talking about. If you have a PCIe card now then PCI is about your only choice if you want to keep your present card, which is what you stated is your desire. Only mistake I made was not noticing you are using Vista. Just Google for "Running 3 monitors in Vista" and you will get many hits showing it is possible to do this. You need to run the same driver, as I mentioned above. About the only thing that may pooch the setup is that evidently Vista Aero won't run on a three monitor setup. One more point to make. Making rude comments like you did won't get you much help on this forum.

Perhaps you should have stated get a PCI card ASWELL as the current PCI-E card, as the original post simply says 'get a pci card' which on its own would be a step backwards.

I would have thought that "get a PCI card ASWELL " was a given, seeing you alread had 2 monitors. Don't be so touchy.
