|Hi, I have been charged with sourcing some new RAM for a friend's ancient Acer Travelmate 220. When I install the 1gb of RAM (512mb X2) all I'm greeted with is a blank screen. If I swap the RAM into the different slots it's the same problem. But if I put the old RAM in, it boots up! does anyone think the RAM is faulty? Or would I need to do a BIOS update so the laptop can see the RAM? |

And this is the RAM that the laptop should use off of the Crucial website:
As far I can see, the specs are the same. Any ideas?
