I have a 120gb sata hd. I also have a 40gb ata133 hd, with a bunch of stuff on it that i want. Can i put this in my comp to transfer the files.?

If you have an open IDE channel you can. Data is data. The format the data files are written in is what matters. The media or speed of the drive really doesn't matter.
