Comment:

I've read all the messages/ replies posted on this subject - but it still wont work :x

It is a Dell, 2.3GH, 10GB, 256 Ram.

It has 2 partitions that don't see each other, ive tried Format, Fdisk, Free download software. Nothing will erase the WHOLE hard drive. I want a harddrive with ALL zeros.

Can someone help - i'm getting very frustrated right now.

Thanks

Or identify the hard drive maker, go to their website and download the utility to write zeros to the drive.

Win2k is probably setup with NTFS...I think you can partiton/format by using the Win2k CD, but either of the above suggestions will work as well

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8.5 x 200MHz
768MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro

"Darik's Boot n' Nuke" is contained in there. Its a floppy that will wipe your drive clean as a whistle

Hi guys!

The above two guys hit the nail on the head! - i got the duke'n'nuke (don't be put off cuz it says Linux and not Windows) - IT WORKS

I tried the other suggestions before duke'n'nuke (sorry I should have been more precise in my question) they didn't work because the two partitions didn't see each other.

Although, all that said duke'n'nuke isn't for the faint hearted - a bit of time/luck and a well formatted floppy disk should work a treat :)

I got it sorted - thanks
