Toshiba Usb Hard drive

I got a serious problem, I tried to use my Toshiba hard disk today , but i couldnt my computer wont read the item at all , i tried to reboot my PC several times but still nothing happend I also had the same problem with an other guy here. I couldnt have the hard disk on b4 my windows open, other wise they wouldnt open. But i dont care about that i care to be able to open my hard disk because i got there about 500GB work stuff and personal files fotos , movies , music ect ect thing that are really really importan to me. Please if someone knows what happend PLEASE help me !

... you could try ubuntu ...do'nt install it just boot up with the created cd with the usb device plugged in

... ubuntu should be able to see it to enable you to copy to main drive

... it might be worth hooking up the usb drive to another (friends(?) pc to see if its your pc (reg fault) or the drives!

well i already tried it on an other PC but its exactly the same.
The hard disk look open it has blue light ( shows that works
normaly ) but it just wont read it ! Its like i formated the hard disk
With the system files ( the one that are resposible so the PC
read it ) but such a thing never happened it just stop working!
just like that !

... it might be worth taking the harddrive out of its enclosure and hooking it up direct as slave drive, select the correct jumper setting and make sure its set in the bios as slave

... its still worth using ubuntu to see what that will find!

I got Ubuntu, i tried there as well and still the same, i went to the
place that i bought and they just put in on a pc there and they
said that they cant do anything, but i am sure there there is
somthing that we can do ! and i thought of that as well . to take
the disk out and use it as a normal hard disk! i am gona try that
and see , anyways. Thanks a lot for your help cya
