I recently wiped the hard drive on my Toshiba Satellite S855-S5378 installing Linux, losing my Windows 8 recovery partition and all. I went to Toshiba's support site to order recovery media, but apparently it is not yet available and I should check back "in a week or so." I'll do that, but I don't have a lot of confidence that it will be any different. I'd just like to restore my computer to its original state, it was new anyways. Any ideas?

Why didn't you make the restore disks before you wiped the drive? Your other option is to go buy a retail copy of 8.
If you didn't bother to make the disks before installing Linux, you're out of luck. You'll either have to pay Toshiba for the recovery media or pay Microsoft for a retail copy. Or just stick with Linux. Which distro did you install?
