My computer freezes in a number of ways. Sometimes when I boot up it freezes at the desktop image. Sometimes I get all the way to an email, but then when opening a link from the email I freeze. I must reboot. Can anyone help. OS has been rebooted. I took out the battery pack and nothing is helping.
There are a lot things that could be causing your problem. Is your anti-virus software up to date? Are you running a program to keep spyware out of your computer, such as Spybot Search and Destroy. It is free to use. You could also have a program that starts when your computer boots that could be causing your system to lock up. You would have to go into msconfig and disable and enable programs to see who the culprit is. You could go to TrendMicro.com and do a online virus scan. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ That would see if your system is infected. I would go with Spybot and Trend Micro first. You would need to have a little computer knowledge to play with your start up programs (msconfig).
