Comment:

If anyone is still reading and posting here. I have a toshiba satellite 2515cds notebook. I push the power button the green indicator lights up, then i hear a click maybe the floppy not sure, and the cdrom light is lit orange, no display on the screen. nothing else happens.

Also, is there anyway possible to obtain a newer motherboard, and simply use this case and screen and build a new one?

Yes, but it may be very expensive and it may not work. You will probably need to shop eBay for the MOBO and other parts and it still might not solve your problem.

You can buy a very good new laptop for what this one originally cost.

yeah, i know laptops are dropping in price, i just didnt know if there was a way to find a board compatible to a P3, instead of the P2 thats in it. I dont think the hard drive is responding, but then again when i removed it, still nothing. even tried disconnecting the cd rom and floppy drive.

What you are asking is possible but very few nonprofessionals can do a MOBO replacement in a laptop.

IMHO the time it would take a IT Guru to disembowel the laptop would negate the value of the Laptop....

Try with external monitor, the invertor may of gone US....
