Hello,

My friend just bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite A100 and now the laptop won't start up. Once the power button is pressed, the fan can be heard spinning and all the display lights are on but the screen remains blank. This problem happened when he did something with the power cord (e.g. unplug it to let it run on battery)

Check the AC connector to see if it's loose (broken). Also, the battery might be dead.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
